Large-scale employee shortage recorded in Russia
The day before, the audit and consulting network FinExpertiza published data, according to which there is a shortage of workers in the Russian Federation.  For the period June-November of this year, employers experienced a labor shortage of 2.2 million people.

Since the fall of last year, the need for specialists has increased by a quarter, and the shortage of workers has been gradually increasing since January 2021.

Since May 2021, the number of open vacancies has exceeded 2 million positions and has not decreased for six months.

The head of FinExpertiza Global Elena Trubnikova drew attention to a curious paradox: on the one hand, the number of open vacancies currently doubles the number of those wishing to find a job, and on the other hand, unemployment has reached a historical maximum and exceeded 4%, reports Lenta.ru.

At the same time, Trubnikova notes that the shortage of personnel at the moment is associated with a shortage of employees of working age, as the reason of quarantine restrictions has faded into the background and does not have such an impact.

The problem partially arose due to the outflow of labor migrants, since more than a half of the vacancies on the market are represented by ‘blue-collar’ occupations.

However, the lack of staff is also felt among the ‘white collar’ workers.

The regions experiencing the maximum deficit are Moscow and the region, as well as Tatarstan, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk and Primorsky regions, Rostov, Irkutsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The least demand for personnel was recorded in the Caucasian republics, as well as in Altai and Kalmykia.
