Wildberries and Ozon ready to work with parallel imports
The largest Russian online retailers Ozon and Wildberries announced their readiness to work with parallel imports.  An important condition for the sale of such goods at both sites is that the seller has all the necessary documentation, representatives of the marketplaces emphasized.

Legislative consolidation of the possibility of parallel imports took place a month earlier against the backdrop of sanctions imposed against Russia. First, the Government of the Russian Federation issued a decree allowing the import of goods, the delivery of which is impossible due to sanctions, from other countries where these goods are delivered. Subsequently, the relevant ministry developed a specific list of such goods, enshrined in the relevant order.

It is assumed that the legal development will help to stabilize prices for items the direct imports of which have been suspended, but consumer interest in them has been preserved.

At the same time, Russian online stores intend to fight fakes that may appear against the backdrop of the adoption of new standards. The press service of Ozon explained that if there are claims from the copyright holder, the seller of the goods will be required to provide the necessary documentation. If this is not done, the product will be removed from the sale.

The representative of Wildberries noted that the rule on parallel imports will be able to support both consumers and entrepreneurs by expanding the range of products sold in Russia. This will have a positive impact both on price stabilization and on the formation of new jobs, TASS reports.
