According to the presidential decree, which has been signed recently, the wages of judges will be raised by 3% from October. The measure will affect federal judges of general jurisdiction and commercial courts, regional justices of the peace, as well as the highest echelon - judges of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts.
The reasons for the wages indexation are indicated in the document itself - among them, there are provision of social guarantees for the servants of Themis, and the full and independent administration of justice.
We should recall that the similar raise of the judges’ wages took place a year ago - then the increase was even slightly more significant - the indexation was 1.043 times, while now it has stopped at the level of 1.03 times.
In addition to judges, wages indexations are expected for other civil servants - at the end of the summer, the president has already increased their salaries by 3%, as well as the salaries of the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General. New wages will be paid from October 1.
From the beginning of October, the monetary allowances of the National Guard servicemen, conscripts, police officers, customs officers, firefighters and courier communications officers will also be raised by 3%.
