Victoria's Secret and Discovery: foreign companies leaving Russian market
Foreign companies continue to leave the Russian market.  The territory of the country, which is conducting a military special operation in a neighboring state, is being rapidly left by the well-known brands, many of which came here back in Soviet times.  How the authorities will solve the issue of employment of those Russians for whom the suspension of the work of company or its withdrawal from the market has become a loss of a job is still unknown.

More than 250 well-known companies have already left the Russian Federation and this process has not yet been completed.  In the public catering market, the decision of McDonald's, which provided jobs for 62,000 citizens, was symbolic.  A total of 850 establishments are being closed. The enterprise while call such a decision ‘temporary’. The restaurant chain said it would not leave its employees, continuing to pay them wages during the period of forced downtime, but how much and what will be a period of ‘suspension’ is not yet clear.
The intention to suspend work was announced by Yum!  Brands, which operates a chain of KFC restaurants and Pizza Hut pizzerias in Russia.
The company has previously announced its intention to transfer profits as humanitarian aid to the victims of the conflict in Ukraine.  The brand is also curtailing investment activities in the country.

Two old American competitors in the beverage market, The Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo, this time were in solidarity in the decision to stop their business activities in Russia.  The Coca-Cola plant in Siberia has already suspended work.  Prior to this, the Novosibirsk enterprise produced about 50 types of products shipped to the Urals, the Far East and the European part of the country.  However, Coca-Cola soon announced that they would continue to produce branded drinks, but their cost would increase.

PepsiCo, which came to the country even earlier (during the existence of the Soviet Union), stops not only investments and advertising, but intends to suspend the sale of soft drinks, leaving Russia only with the production of baby food, dairy products and some other essential goods.
The Discovery brand suspends broadcasting programs in the Russian Federation.
According to Variety, 15 channels and a number of services will be discontinued.  These include, in particular, HGTV, Animal Planet, TLC and Eurosport.  However, this is not the first ‘loss’ among media.  Earlier, many channels from Europe, Great Britain and the USA announced the termination of broadcasting (CNN, ARD, ZDF, RAI, BBC).

Soon, according to the numerous sources, the Victoria's Secret and Adidas brands may not be available to Russians.  In the first case, the company said that it would only fulfill orders that were placed before March 9th.  It is not known when exactly the Internet website will resume work, customers are invited to wait for special notifications.  Sportswear brand Adidas has also made a decision to suspend the mobile app from March 9th.  The firm plans to close retail outlets after March 13.
