It became known that the Israeli company Teva, which produces drugs, has agreed to sell its only Russian enterprise. The buyer will be R-Pharm company of Alexey Repik.
The plant is located in the Yaroslavl region, its area is estimated at 13 thousand square meters. According to Vedomosti newspaper, the volume of production is estimated at 2 billion pills per year. The R-Pharm company owns one more plant in the region - its area is 19 hectares.
According to experts, the deal will amount to about $ 15 million.
Teva is engaged in the production of copies of original medicines. R-Pharm, in turn, produces antiviral, anti-cancer, hematological and other drugs. The company has five factories in Russia and one in Germany, the net profit is estimated at 12 billion rubles, while the profit of the Russian’s Teva plant - 2.9 billion rubles.
Under the terms of the agreement, R-Pharm will produce Teva medicines for another five years. The transaction itself will take place as part of the Israeli company's large-scale capacity optimization program.
The representatives of Teva made a decision to build a plant in Russia in 2010 - then such an idea seemed attractive in the international market. However, the crisis of 2014 had significantly slowed down Russian growth rates – as a result, they were not restored.
