The court seized an apartment from a resident of Moscow over illegal alterations
The Butyrskiy District Court ruled to sell an apartment in Moscow at a public auction.  The reason for this was illegal alterations - the reconstruction was revealed by the Moscow Housing Inspectorate 3 years ago.

The owner of a three-room apartment in the north-east of the capital (Dmitrovskoe shosse, 169k1) combined the kitchen and living space, having removed the load-bearing wall.  He also installed a TV niche and combined a bathroom with a toilet.  The Moscow Housing Inspection twice tried to bring the owner to administrative responsibility and oblige to return the apartment to its previous form - corresponding to the technical documentation.  There was no reaction.
Then the Moscow Housing Inspection applied to court, demanding that the wall should be returned to the apartment.
The court supported the supervisory authority, but the owner did not comply with the instructions.  Restrictive measures, coupled with a fine, did not affect him either.

Then the inspectorate applied to the court again, but this time with a demand to deprive him of property rights and sell the violator's apartment at a public auction.  The court satisfied the claim, but the defendant himself did not appear at the hearing.  Now the new owner will have to return the original appearance to the premises.
