It became known that the members of Taliban (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) opened fire on the women who took to the streets in Kabul. According to preliminary data, there are no victims.
Dozens of women have gathered in the Kabul hospital area, Asvaka reports. They had posters ‘Justice!’, ‘Long live humanity’, ‘Women are awake, we hate discrimination’. The protesters demanded that their rights should be respected and the quality of life should be improved.
The Taliban opened fire on them, but no casualties were reported.
According to RIA Novosti, the demonstrators gathered outside the former Ministry of Women's Affairs. Their main demands, voiced at the rally, were reduced to ‘work, food and freedom’.
Earlier, the Taliban banned women from working in positions that can be occupied by men. Only those women who could not be replaced by men were allowed to remain in the same positions - for example, workers in public women's toilets. According to Taliban norms, women also cannot have makeup, show their faces in public, or travel long distances without a male escort. In addition, Afghan media were banned from showing women without a hijab and foreign TV shows.
