Taliban delighted at the prospect of exclusion from the list of terrorist organizations of the Russian Federation
President Vladimir Putin announced the possibility of excluding the Taliban (banned on the territory of the Russian Federation) from the list of terrorist organizations.  The Afghan Foreign Ministry welcomed this statement.

Putin announced this prospect at the Valdai Forum, noting that Russia would move in this direction.  However, the final decision must be made at the level of the United Nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan commented on the situation on Twitter, stressing out that they were pleased with the possibility of removing the country's leaders from the blacklists.  The Afghan side also added that the war had come to an end, and therefore other countries needed to change their attitude towards the state.
Taliban indicated that they wanted a positive relationship with the international community.
A few days earlier, the Minister of foreign affairs Sergei Lavrov met with a Taliban delegation in Moscow.  As a result, the Russian side announced that it would provide humanitarian aid for Afghanistan.

We should remind our readers that the Taliban gained power in Afghanistan in August 2021.  This happened against the background of the withdrawal of the American military from the country, who had been there for 20 years.
