State Duma abandoned the idea of introduction QR codes in transport
The day before, the speaker of the lower house of parliament Vyacheslav Volodin said that the fate of the proposed amendments to the laws regarding the introduction of QR codes would largely depend on the moods voiced by the society. He talked about QR codes in public places, as well as in airplanes and on trains.
We should remind our readers that consideration of both documents was scheduled for this week, however, Vladimir Putin urged not to rush and work out the proposed amendments in detail.
According to the president, the norms are of a framework nature, which means that they require additional elaboration at the local level, e.g. in the regions of Russia.
Putin noted that a significant amount of authority in this matter will be transferred to the regions.
What is more, according to the president, in the situation under consideration, it is necessary to act carefully, without creating additional problems for citizens. An important aspect was the understanding of the readiness of the transport system for the introduction of measures. Its work under the new conditions, on the one hand, should not restrict people in their rights, but at the same time, should ensure their health and safety.
Responding to the president's comment, Volodin noted that he agreed with the country's leader. The parliamentarian explained that the decision on this issue would largely depend on the moods voiced by the society.
