SOUTH OSSETIA OPENED THE BORDERS WITH RUSSIA

The border between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia has been opened on September 15. The restrictions that were in effect since April were introduced due to the spread of the coronavirus.

It is now possible to go through the "Rook" checkpoint to get from Russia to the Republic, but previously all persons entering the country were required to comply with a two-week quarantine.  The representatives of the South Ossetia reported that by September 14, not a single person was under quarantine.

However, the Republic will strengthen anti-epidemic measures in order to prevent a new wave of spread of coronavirus.

During the pandemic in South Ossetia, 90 people infected with Covid-19 were identified.  At the same time, the representatives of the Republic note that all patients have recovered and have already been discharged home.

The border with Russia was closed until August 31, exceptions were made only for the citizens of South Ossetia who wanted to return home - the entry was allowed only after contacting the consulate, and it was also necessary to comply with a 14-day quarantine.  However, the quarantine for the citizens of Ossetia was canceled on August 1 and the same conditions were introduced for Russians working in the Republic, provided they had a certificate of the presence of antibodies
