The Ministry of Education announced that history lessons would be introduced for first-graders.  This was announced on April 19 by the head of the department, Sergei Kravtsov.

The statement was made as part of the "Strength in Truth!" school historical forum. Kravtsov noted that historical memory must be preserved and for this it is necessary to do “whatever it takes”. For this reason, the minister made a decision to start history lessons from the first grade, TASS reports.

So far, students have been studying history since the fifth grade.

Kravtsov added that one of the tasks of the ministry is not to create a bad impression about the peoples of Ukraine and Belarus during the study of history. Previously, the minister took the initiative to raise the flag in schools once a week and play the anthem as an educational element. Presidential adviser Vladimir Medinsky also made a proposal regarding the education of schoolchildren - he stated that school days should begin with a prayer.

At the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, special classes on history were held in the schools of the Russian Federation, where the reasons for what was happening were explained. Among the reasons, the threats of NATO, Russophobia, fascism and the possibility of nuclear war were mentioned.
