‘Raspberry Themis’ announced the worst lawyers of the year
Information about dubious ‘achievements’ in jurisprudence appeared on the website of the award on December 3, when the legal community of Russia celebrated its professional holiday. This year, ‘Raspberry Themis’ took place for the second time.
The organizers of the event, Alexander Fedorov and Dmitry Zhdanukhin, note that its format has slight changed recently, as the new partners and methods of voting have appeared.
Now experts are wondering to what extent the anti-award itself affects the state of affairs in the legal field and the work of everyone who is related to law and legislation. Some events that became the reason for the nomination have practically disappeared from the field of view over the past year, while the facts that seem tragicomic even for those who are not immersed in the legal routine, have appeared.
For example, in the ‘Defendant’ category, the prize was awarded to Oleg Tinkov, who unsuccessfully tried to ‘save’ the United States from the unnecessary tax revenues.
As a result, he was obliged to pay a serious amount of compensation. In the ‘Deputy’ nomination, the first place was won by Vitaly Milonov, who this year insulted the collectors with impunity (the deputy is an inviolable person).
As already noted by Rusbankrot, the voting participants awarded the DIA with the ‘Bankruptcy’ nomination in 2020 for the weird outsourcing expenses that appeared in the Tagilbank insolvency case (the cleaning of empty bank building and the services of bar association). In the same year, the ‘victory’ was awarded to the Fund for the Protection of the Rights of Shareholders, which showed ‘non-constructive interaction’ in the case of the bankruptcy administrator Nadezhda Lagoda, who eventually asked to be relieved of her duties (case No.A33-32077 / 2020), having reported the essence of the conflict on Facebook.
The most difficult for the experts were the ‘Judge’ and ‘Lawyer’ nominations. Voting on them continued until the end of the day at the site of the ‘Three Letters’ Telegram channel. Considering that the voting was anonymous, and any subscriber of the channel (there are about 14 thousand of them) could participate in it, the results were unexpected even for the organizers of the anti-award.
In 2021, there were no clear leaders among the lawyers, according to Dmitry Zhdanukhin. The victory was won by Sergei Zhorin, although the wording presented as the basis for the victory remained unclear to the majority.
Ekaterina Ignatova became the ‘winner’ among the judges.
The story with the white font, which led to the dismissal of the court employees, has become widely known. The obscene comments were eventually removed, and the judge was nominated due to poor control over the activities of her assistants.
