No women and no opposition: Taliban announced a new government
No women and no opposition: Taliban announced a new government
Three weeks after the seizure of power in Afghanistan, the Taliban movement announced a list of government members. The Taliban militants are almost fully represented in it (the organization is prohibited in the Russian Federation). The leader is one of the movement’s founders.
Contrary to expectations and in violation of the agreement achieved with the United States, the government has not become a coalition government, despite the fact that it was the main condition for the US military to leave the country.
The political scientist and orientalist Elena Suponina noticed that many of the Government members announced by the Taliban are in the ‘black lists’ of the UN and the different world powers and known as terrorists.
This circumstance and the fact that before coming to power, Taliban members were struggling for it says that it is not clear how they will run the country without having any experience.
According to the Suponina, other countries should take a waiting position, without entering the conflict, but not excluding the Taliban from terrorist lists, reports ‘Gazeta.ru’.
. At the same time, the expert eliminated the possibility of returning the US military to Afghanistan, but allowed the likelihood of remote struggle using missiles in the case of terrorist attacks of American objects.
We should recall that earlier, Taliban stated that women, militia members and representatives of secular power would enter the new government.
