The team of politician Alexei Navalny announced the preparation of a large-scale rally. For this purpose, the website Freedom to Navalny was created, on which Alexei's supporters, who want to come out and support him, must register and put a mark on the map
By these means, the organizers want to show people that they are not alone and there are like-minded people next to them.
According to the plan, the rally will be held after the number of registered people exceeds half a million people. The activist’s closest supporter, Leonid Volkov, called the upcoming events the most important political campaign ever held.
At the moment, Alexei himself is in prison in the Vladimir region, where he will serve his sentence.
In early February, the activist’s suspended sentence was changed to a real one due to the evasion of the obligation to report to the FPS inspection. Navalny did not admit his guilt and considered his persecution to be politically motivated.
We should note that almost immediately after the website related to the rally has been launched, it stopped working. As the FBK team (included in the list of foreign agents) explained later, this was due to the large influx of visitors. The maximum number of registered was recorded in large cities: both capitals, as well as in the cities of Siberia, the Urals, the Volga region, southern Russia and Kaliningrad.
