Kalmykia and Tyva became the most debt-ladened regions of Russia
According to experts, there is an increase in the level of debt load of the population in Russia, while different situation is recorded in all the regions. Kalmykia, Tyva and Udmurtia are named among the most debt-ladened regions, while the lowest rates are registered in Ingushetia, Chechnya and Dagestan.
The situation, according to experts, may be related to the level of development of loans and the banking sector in the southern republics and, as a result, the availability of such products for the population.
In Ingushetia, the leader in the positive rating, the debt burden of the population is only 12%, while in Kalmykia it is 103.5%.
As for the last positions in the rating, such a situation may be associated with the higher salaries of population compared to other regions, because we are talking about the northern regions. Consequently, people are more likely to believe that they can service the loan and then take it.
In 2022, an increase in debts to banks was recorded in all regions of the country. The indicator varied depending on the specific region, but still inevitably increased.
The calculation was made by RIA Novosti experts and based on data from the Central Bank and Federal State Statistics Service. It was obtained by comparing the average per capita debt on loans among the economically active population and the amount of annual wages. When taking into account the amount of wages, a deduction of income tax was noted.
