How the state will support Russians after Putin's decree
Vladimir Putin signed a decree regulating a number of measures to support the population of Russia. The document was published the day before and suggests several directions for the subsequent legislative activity of the regional authorities.
The regulation establishes the duty of the heads of regions to develop and adopt measures to support Russians, including in the context of the imposition of sanctions and the loss of jobs by people. Among them there are:
targeted support for citizens who find themselves in a difficult life situation, as well as the provision of lump-sum payments if necessary;
control of the operation of transport, energy, communications, hospitals, schools, gardens and other life facilities;
tracking the price level of both essential goods and medicines, including the issue of their availability;
work in the field of employment of the population with the provision of the possibility of retraining, as well as the improvement of existing qualifications;
support for companies, individual entrepreneurs, as well as the self-employed, not only with money, but also by providing various kinds of benefits, including in the field of procurement;
additional support for NGOs that work in the social sphere, including as part of assistance to refugees and internally displaced persons.
The decree signed by the president has already entered into force, which means that soon the heads of the regions will start working out the directions outlined in it and preparing their own regulations.
