GERMANY MAY BE LEFT WITHOUT TOILET PAPER
Paper in Germany may become a scarce commodity. Experts declare a reduction in the production of cardboard, hygiene products, toilet paper and other indicators of stability, which the country is rapidly losing. The reason for this situation is called the reduction of Russian gas supplied to Germany, which is necessary for the implementation of the entire production cycle.

As the Bavarian Jurgen Schaller, who heads the regional association of paper manufacturers, told the local newspaper Die Zeit, many paper products, including medicinal packaging and instructions enclosed in it, may become scarce. The process of making paper requires a lot of energy for "drying", and in conditions of rising energy prices, entrepreneurs are going to reduce production volumes.

According to Schaller, the company where he works has already experienced unrest from employees. It can switch to a reduced mode of operation, but at the same time it will lose the opportunity to make a profit. It is still possible to solve the problem of increasing energy costs through loans or subsidies from the authorities, but this option is not of strategic importance and is temporary.

Earlier it was reported that the supply of Russian gas through the Nord Stream pipeline may decrease by 5 times due to the repair of one of the turbines. If earlier Russia supplied 167 million cubic meters of gas per day, now its volume will be reduced to 33 million. The consequence of this was an increase in the price of gas on the stock exchange over $ 2,300 per thousand cubic meters.

The Bavarian Association represented by Schaller is not the only one in Germany who declares the need to solve the problem of energy resources at the national level. Earlier, the head of the German Chancellery, Wolfgang Schmidt, organized a special meeting, which brought together heads of administrations from different lands.

The participants discussed the question of what to do in the event of a rise in gas prices several times. And although the authorities believe that there is no reason to impose a state of emergency in the whole country, some industrial regions of Germany may suffer greatly.
