EUROPE VS RUSSIA: HOW DIFFERENT COUNTRIES SUPPORT BUSINESS AND PEOPLE
Over the past few months, news reports have been full of different kinds of topics, related to coronavirus. In this compilation, we have collected measures, used by governments of different countries to support business and ordinary citizens during a pandemic and crisis.

In Germany, 750 billion euros have been allocated to deal with the impact of the pandemic. Large-scale business support has been deployed: large conglomerates will be able to receive financing through a stability fund. 50 billion euros were allocated separately to support small businesses.

Small enterprises will be able to receive financial assistance in the amount of 9,000 to 15,000 euros by June 30. The tax support has been introduced for enterprises of any scale as well: until the end of the year, the tax payments will be deferred.

In France, the main forces are directed to the business support. The prime minister even made a rather loud statement that no enterprise will go bankrupt. The government announced its readiness to guarantee loans for a total of 300 billion euros.

When it comes to the citizens, the French government has committed to pay 84% of the salary to anyone who has lost the job due to the pandemic.

The Czech Republic has turned towards its elderly citizens. The hotline, by calling on which you can get all kinds of help, ranging from walking a dog to calling a doctor and buying food and medicine, has been created.

The free of charge face masks are sewn additionally and distributed along the country, since without them it is forbidden to visit shops and working institutions.

The filing of declarations for both business and ordinary citizens has been deferred as well. The parking lots of the capital have become free for everyone.

Spanish authorities are ready to allocate 200 billion euros for the fight against coronavirus. This money will be directed both to medical and scientific research, and to targeted assistance to families, workers and entrepreneurs.

Spain has established a moratorium on the mortgage payments.

In Austria, the priority areas in a pandemic situation are saving lives, retain of the employment and the economy as a whole. The state assumes the social security of the dismissed people with a guarantee of their return to the workplaces after the crisis. Three weeks paid leave is granted for the families with children under 14 years old.

What about Russia? In the nearest future, business area expects the government’s support measures. The moratorium on bankruptcy has been introduced as well. As for the targeted support of the citizens, the maximum unemployment benefit has been increased to the national average, which is 12 130 rubles, and to 19 500 rubles for the citizens of Moscow.
