Eight people were killed in the attack at the Perm State University. At least 6 more people were injured, the attacker died.
The tragedy took place in the eighth building of the PSU at about 11 am. The attacker entered the university grounds armed with a traumatic weapon. Then he started shooting in the street, and after that entered an educational institution. According to the ‘Lentach’ telegram channel, the number of victims reached 8 people, and six more were injured. There were about 3000 people on the territory of the university at the time of shooting, all classes were canceled.
The shooter turned out to be 18-year-old Timur Bekmansurov.
He is reported to be a freshman in law school. Telegram channels spread the attacker's post, which he published on the eve of the incident - in it, he explained in detail, why he had made a decision on the mass murder, how he had bought a weapon and received a license. The post has now been removed from the social networks.
As a result of the operation of the security officials, Bekmansurov was wounded, later information about his death has appeared.
During the shooting, the university students closed up in the classrooms. A video of how some students began to jump out of the windows appeared on the network. The Governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Manokhin confirmed the information about the elimination of the shooter, now law enforcement officers are finding out whether he had accomplices.
The Investigative Committee has already opened a criminal case on the murder of two or more persons. Bekmansurov himself stated in his publication that the incident was not a terrorist attack, since he was not a member of any extremist organization, was not religious and was apolitical.
