Dr. Myasnikov warned about the danger of mutation of bird flu

Popular physician Alexander Myasnikov said that the mutation of bird flu could become more dangerous than COVID-19.  However, the disease has not yet started to spread from person to person.

Myasnikov said this in the framework of the program ‘About the Most Important’ on the ‘Russia 1’ TV channel. The doctor noted that bird flu can be contracted through meat and feces.  You can get sick in other ways, including through swimming in bodies of water, since there are ducks in them.

Myasnikov expressed concern about the beginning of a new epidemic.

The doctor stressed out that the current pandemic has already shown the inability of humanity to solve such problems.  Myasnikov recalled that even before the coronavirus, there was talk that there were several mutations left before the bird flu epidemic.  At the same time, the COVID-19, according to the physician, ‘taught us nothing’.

Infant mortality from bird flu is very high - about 53%.

An H1N1 vaccine is already available to prevent the first mutation of the virus, but there is insufficient evidence of its effectiveness.

Myasnikov believes that the mutated bird flu can begin to spread from person to person.  To avoid contamination, do not eat potentially hazardous foods and do not hand-feed the birds.
