Anti-COVID restrictions, introduced two years earlier, are being lifted.  The next round of this process is the lifting of the ban on crossing the land border with the DPR, LPR and Georgia.  Now the Russians again have the opportunity to cross the border points by car.

The corresponding order was signed by Mikhail Mishustin the day before.

The order, which limited the right of Russians to cross not only land, but also river, pedestrian and railway borders, issued just over two years ago, is cancelled.

The ban was introduced due to the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Previously, similar restrictions have already been lifted for a number of foreign countries, including Mongolia, Kazakhstan, South Ossetia, China and Abkhazia. Restrictions on flights, also introduced due to the pandemic, have also been cancelled. Dozens of countries are on the list of lifting bans - many of the destinations were closed to regular flights, with the exception of export flights, as well as cargo, mail and medical transportation.

In addition, residents of the Kaliningrad region were given the opportunity to transit through Lithuania to enter other regions of Russia. This was previously announced by the governor of the region.
