Discounts and special offers on goods return to Russia

Experts attribute the change in the conditions for the sale of goods and the decline in prices to the fall in consumer demand and the strengthening of the ruble. However, the instability of the general external economic situation continues to have an impact.

Among the stores that agreed on discounts, it is worth noting “M-Video” and “Eldorado”. The chain has expanded its range of products, which are sold at a discount from 10 to 30%. Some items are being sold at prices halved.

Special offer is a kind of signal for buyers about a change in the situation, which also affects the competitiveness of the seller.

In the salons of "MTS" and "MegaFon" prices have also been reduced. Earlier, sellers recorded a decline in consumer demand, which could lead to reconsideration of the cost of goods.

As for large grocery retailers, changes are also planned in this area. “X5 Group” and “Magnit”have already sent letters to suppliers with a proposal to reduce purchase prices, Izvestia reports. In both cases, the reason is the stabilization of the ruble exchange rate. The second important reason was the fall in demand for a number of goods, including due to the purchase of them for future use.

It should be noted that price stabilization is not a quick process - for some time the cost of goods may remain at a higher level based on the interests of the seller.
