Crimean Antalya: Sergey Aksenov announced the construction of a new city on the peninsula
The head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov said that the construction of a new city, which will receive tourists during the season, is planned on the peninsula. The location chosen for this is the west coast, where the construction of both hotels and housing for sale will be carried out.
Last Tuesday, at a meeting with journalists, the head of Crimea outlined his intention to build a new settlement, which will be able to receive up to 50 thousand tourists per season, reports Izvestia.
The head of the region announced the intention of the ‘big players’ to build the real estate objects and noted that the new city should become an analogue of Turkish Antalya.
At the moment, the work on the feasibility study of the project is underway.
Separately, the head of the region stressed out that the residents of the new settlement will not have problems with water.
We should remind our readers that difficulties
with water supply on the peninsula began after 2014, when Ukraine closed the
North Crimean Canal, which supplied fresh water from the Dnieper. By means of the canal, the republic was
provided with water for 85%. After it
had been closed, the peninsula faced a serious shortage of fresh water - Russia
made attempts to change the situation and even filed a complaint against the
Ukraine with the European Court of Human Rights, but failed. At the moment, the Russian government is
allocating funds for drilling wells and building new water pipelines on the
peninsula.
