Court Bailiffs Service closed exit from the country for 11 million Russians in 2021
Representatives of the Court Bailiffs Service banned more than 11 million Russians from leaving the country due to debts in 2021.  These are the statistics for 11 months of the past year. This number is steadily growing year by year, and if in 2019 7 million Russians were banned, in 2020 there were already 8 million.

The measure is applied to citizens who have more than 30 thousand rubles of debts in enforcement proceedings. The exception is alimony debtors - for them it is enough to accumulate a debt of 10 thousand rubles.

According to the President of the National Association of Professional Debt Collection Agencies Elman Mehdiyev, the number of debtors is growing due to the general increase in debts of citizens.

Two previous years have not had the best effect on the well-being of Russians, some of whom have begun to lose their ability to pay. According to the results of the first half of 2021, the total debt on loan obligations increased by more than 13% and reached 22.64 trillion rubles, Izvestia reports.

At the same time, experts note that not all the citizens who have faced a travel ban are persistent non-payers. There are examples when fraudsters took loans instead of the victims, and the debts on the loans payments began to grow. Therefore, it is important to check information on the CBS’s website when planning a trip abroad.
