CORONAVIRUS AFFECTS WOMEN’S REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH

According to the Daily Mail, two women, 46 and 47 years old, faced symptoms typical of Covid-19: shortness of breath, cough, loss of smell. At the same time, it is noted that the women did not have any coronavirus tests, but both were sick for a long time.

As a result, the menstruations stopped at both cases and the tests showed postmenopause.

The publication notes that hundreds of women are complaining about a similar development of events on social networks. It is also worth adding that for the UK, the average age of menopause is 51.

Experts have already commented on the information, adding that it is necessary to check whether a number of women had the onset of menopause coincided with the course of the disease, or whether the virus itself can cause disruption of the ovaries. The fact is that some of the symptoms of covid and menopause are similar - the patients also feel dizzy and tired.

A month earlier, the endocrinologist of the Moscow State University clinic Zukhra Pavlova reported that women of reproductive age are less susceptible to coronavirus disease than men. The specialist explained this by natural features, by which the female organism is protected better than the male one. Similar arguments are confirmed by statistics - men suffer from covid more than women do.
