US suing Uber over discrimination against disabled
The US Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Uber Technologies because the company discriminates against people with disabilities.  In particular, this concerns the time of waiting for a taxi.

The US Department of Justice said that Uber made people with disabilities to pay for additional time of waiting for a taxi, not taking into account the fact that due to health conditions they cannot get to the car in 2 minutes.  The plaintiff demanded to stop discrimination against people with disabilities and to adjust the pricing policy.
Passengers injured by the company's actions are demanded to be compensated for the damage.
The Justice Department accuses Uber of violating the US Disability Assistance Act.  The lawsuit is directed to the District Court of San Francisco.  The company is also expected to pay a monetary fine.

Uber has already responded to the lawsuit, saying it has rates for people with disabilities.  It is also possible to provide assistance to those who cannot get into a taxi on their own.  Uber representatives have also added that the waiting fee for such passengers is not included in the price - the money is refunded automatically if the client has indicated that he or she has a disabled status.
