On May 31, the Moscow Court of Arbitration received a claim from Tinkoff Bank with claims against VimpelCom for 436.8 million rubles. Earlier, Tinkoff has already filed claims against telecom operators.
The claim has not yet been accepted for consideration, the Federal Antimonopoly Service has been declared a third party in the case. We should note that in March, the bank filed a lawsuit against MTS with a claim for over 1.1 billion rubles.
The reason was the operator's unreasonably high prices for SMS messaging.
The bank has not yet given official comments on the new lawsuit, but there is a possibility that the case is of the same nature. The reason is that the Federal Antimonopoly Service issued warnings to all operators of the "Big Four" because of the abuse of the monopoly on the market. In the case of MTS, the agency has also been declared a third party.
Tinkoff stated that the bank suffered heavy losses due to the operator's actions, since the prices for SMS messaging services were unreasonably high.
