The daughter of an ex-judge in the Urals was sentenced to a year in prison
The court of the Ural city of Yemanzhelinsk sentenced a resident of Yuzhnouralsk Kristina Reutova to a prison term. The woman was found guilty of attempted major fraud.  In accordance with the verdict, she will spend one year in prison, although Reutova has already spent a significant part of her term under house arrest and in a pre-trial detention center.

The verdict itself has not yet entered into force and, most likely, it is worth waiting for its appeal.

The trial in this case became headline-making.  The mother of a 34-year-old ‘fraudster’, Irina Reutova, worked as a judge in Yuzhnouralsk for many years and retired in early 2021.
This happened almost immediately after the criminal proceedings had began in the case of her daughter.
It was the possible conflict of interests that became a reason for a trial to take place in Yemanzhelinsk, but not in Yuzhnouralsk.

According to the prosecutor's office, in July 2020, the citizen decided to make money on a criminal case in which her partner was involved.  The convict tried to convince the man's mother that she had access to the judiciary at the Chelyabinsk Regional Court, where he would receive the minimum possible punishment.
She offered his mother to pay 500 thousand rubles as a bribe, to change the territorial jurisdiction.
However, at the last moment, the woman, apparently, went too far with her financial demands, and mother of her partner turned to the law enforcement agencies.  As a result, Reutova, Jr., could not bring the entire operation to its logical conclusion, since the transfer of money did not take place.
