Ex-singer of the ‘Tea for Two’ music band Stas Kostyushkin filed a lawsuit with the court of Yekaterinburg against the singer Elizaveta Gyrdymova, known as Monetochka. The plaintiff believes that his composition was used unlawfully.
The issue is related to the Kostyushkin's song called ‘Woman, I don't dance’, released in 2014. The plaintiff believes that Monetochka’s composition ‘Mom, I am not doing the Nazi salute’ is a plagiarism of his song. Now the musician is demanding 900 thousand rubles in compensation.
It is worth noting that Monetochka's song was released back in 2016.
According to REN TV, Kostyushkin's lawyer sent a pre-trial claim to the singer, but there was no response. It is also noted that the required amount can be either increased or decreased by the agreement of the parties.
The representative of Kostyushkin added that six months ago, Gyrdymova's side offered to buy out the track ‘Woman, I don't dance’, but the offered amount was insufficient.
