On November 8, MSP Bank filed an application with the Kaliningrad Arbitration Court, demanding that the BaltRybTech firm should be declared insolvent.  According to the data in case No. À21-11904 / 2021, the company that runs the production in the city of Gvardeysk owes 1,025,828,143.91 rubles to the credit institution.

The third party in the bankruptcy case is the Elinsky Food Factory, which is a co-owner of the cannery.  Businessmen Pavel Yakukhin and Evgeny Malko are also considered the beneficiaries of the enterprise.

The file of arbitration cases also contains information about other claims against the company filed over the past few months (there are already 17 of them).  In particular, on November 10, the packaging plant also filed a bankruptcy claim against the company, indicating that there was an outstanding debt of 32,748,190.41 rubles.

For the moment, bankruptcy claims have not yet been accepted for consideration.  What fate awaits the factory supplying the region with famous brands of canned fish and meat?
The authorities used to call the enterprise a leader in the region.  Last year, 60 million rubles were allocated for its modernization.
The project to improve production in the amount of 153 million rubles allowed the BaltRybTech firm become a resident of the SEZ.  However, at the same time, the company's performance indicators in 2020 deteriorated significantly.  The plant's revenue decreased by 19%, and its debt increased by 4 times, reaching 2.4 billion.

According to the official figures, the plant had 267 employees in early January.  In the summer of 2021, it became known that the district prosecutor's office had fined the director of the company under Art.  13.19 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for not providing statistical data.  The factory was then among the firms that allowed wage arrears to arise.
