Crematorium of Nizhny Tagil received a lawsuit from the prosecutor's office
The scandal in the Middle Urals around the crematorium, organized in the Sukholozhsky village of Nizhny Tagil, entered a new stage. The environmental prosecutor's office has applied to the Leninsky court - it demands the closure of the enterprise, considering its activities illegal.
The relevant information was released by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Sverdlovsk region.
Local residents' protests against the presence of a crematorium in close proximity to the residential buildings and the ‘Harmony’ kindergarten began last fall. Complaints to the police, where the matter was referred to the corruption department, did not yield any positive results.
Residents continued to appeal to the city authorities, including the mayor of Nizhny Tagil, Vladimir Pinaev. They also reached Metropolitan Eugene of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye.
As a result, the check was nevertheless carried out, and it turned out that the place where the crematorium was located was officially assigned to the production zone. It was allowed to conduct some types of economic activity there, with the exception of ritual. This means that the funeral law was violated by the business owners.
According to media reports, the crematorium project was the initiative of Ilya Solovyov, one of the managers of the Soyuz-NT company, which deals with transportation in the city. The Alliance company was established in July 2021. At the same time, Alexey Afanasyev was appointed to the position of the head of company, who spoke about his plans to work with the cremation plant.
Soon he left his post, telling reporters that all the documents on the work of the crematorium had been agreed. The cremation installation passed all approvals from Rostekhnadzor and the fire service, and information on the sanitary protection zone was submitted to the Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights.
At the same time, citizens continue to sound the alarm, referring to the head of the region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev. Local residents want to get guarantees from the governor that the status of the land under the crematorium will not change as a result of falsifications at public hearings.
