A judicial precedent that will allow the company employees to recover monetary compensation from their employers for boring and uninteresting work has been created In France.

For such an opportunity, we need to thank an employee of the Interparfums perfume company, who is not indifferent to his health, and who, in response to his dismissal after an episode of epilepsy, has filed a lawsuit against his employer.

Justifying the claims of his lawsuit, the Frenchman indicated that his recent professional activities were boring and uninteresting, the tasks were too easy, and there were no instructions at all.

All this, according to the plaintiff, led to severe fatigue, diagnosed from idleness.

The trial court dismissed the claim, however, the plaintiff’s arguments were assessed in the appeal - the disease was recognized as a “form of moral harassment”, and the defendant was ordered to pay the compensation in the amount of more than ˆ 50.000.

It is worth noting that this case was the first for the French judicial system. Previously, the employees were receiving compensations for the professional burnout. According to the Paris court, both excess and a significant reduction in the amount of work can lead to depression and adversely affect the human health.
