THE DEBT OF THE EX-PRESIDENT OF RINVESTBANK INCREASED BY 1.3 BILLION
On February 13, 2024, the Moscow arbitration court satisfied the demand of RIKB Rinvestbank to recover over 1.3 billion rubles from the ex-president of the bank Svetlana Pozdnova. The application for this was sent to the court two months ago (case no. A40-221679/2022).

The claim for the insolvency of the banker, filed in October 2022, was accepted by the court for consideration. In May 2023, Svetlana Pozdnova was declared insolvent. Alexander Zhelezinsky, representing the union "SRO AU SZ", was approved for the role of financial manager.

As Rusbankrot recently reported, the organization headed by Svetlana Pozdnova lost its license in 2016. The regulator considered that the bank had reduced the size of its capital below the level stipulated by the charter. Rinvestbank was declared insolvent (case no.A54-4157/2016). The actual beneficiary, Vladimir Romanov, and several employees, including Pozdnova, were prosecuted.

During the investigation, it turned out that in 2015-2016 they managed to lend 15 legal entities that do not carry out any economic activity in the amount of over 1 billion. At the same time, the persons controlling the bank were misled. The organization could not return the money back.

The court sentenced Pozdnova to 4.5 years in prison. At the same time, the claims of the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) were satisfied in full. Earlier, the court found that due to the fault of the ex-president, related to the abuse of his powers (Part 1 of Article 201 and part 2 of Article 195 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), several creditors received satisfaction on a priority basis. This resulted in damage of 360 million rubles, which was incurred by other creditors of the bank.
