Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights clarified the possibility of suspension from work for vaccine refusal
Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights published another order, which deals with the situation of a possible refusal of an employee from vaccination and the consequences that may occur in this regard.

First of all, it should be said that there are categories of professions within which an employee's unwillingness to vaccinate is more dangerous for society than others. In particular, this applies to medical and social workers, employees of the educational sphere, who are in direct contact with a large number of people and can both become infected themselves and become the cause of infection of others.

The supervisory authority recalled that for this category of workers, refusal to vaccinate can lead to both refusal to hire employees and to suspension from work.

At the same time, in our country there is a norm according to which each person has the right to vaccine refusal.

If we talk about the vaccine against COVID-19, then it is included in the national vaccination calendar for epidemic indicators. It is the presence of the vaccination in this list that gives the right to suspension from work if you refuse it, but subject to the conditions.

In this case, the decision on compulsory vaccination against coronavirus infection should be made at the level of the chief sanitary doctors of the regions and enshrined in the corresponding decree. Only after that, the law allows the suspension from work or refusal to hire persons who refused vaccination (Letter of the Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights dated March 2, 2021 No. 09-3748-2021-40).
