ROSSETI SEES THE RISK OF BANKRUPTCY OF THE SIBERIAN SUBSIDIARY
PJSC ROSSETI has taken care of the economic condition of its subsidiary, Rosseti Siberia. The head of the company, Andrey Ryumin, sent an appeal to the head of the Russian government, pointing out that there is a real threat of bankruptcy in the very near future. It is reported that if the financial situation of the enterprise does not change, the organization will be forced to close investment and repair programs.

The main reason for the financial problems of the Siberian subsidiary is regional tariffs. According to the management of PJSC, they do not take into account the entire amount of expenses related to electricity supply. This, in turn, leads to the generation of losses. As of December 2024, they have already reached over 24 billion rubles. The level of debt in relation to earnings before taxes and depreciation (EBITDA) turned out to be sixfold. This is a critical level for any company in this sector.

The management of PJSC proposes to solve the problem by creating a single tariff zone throughout Siberia. This would make the process of tariff regulation simpler, and take into account those costs that are currently not recognized as justified by the regional authorities. The organization proposes to transfer authority in this area to the federal authorities. According to the management of PJSC, this will help to stabilize the economic situation.

According to FAS representatives, the federal government is already analyzing the possible consequences of such a decision. The formation of a single tariff area can have a significant impact on consumers. But, as stated in Rosseti, the shortage of funds is already of critical importance. Without early intervention, the company's situation risks becoming irreversible.

Rosseti Siberia was founded 20 years ago. The company specializes in electricity distribution in the Siberian regions. By the end of 2024, the company reported that its loss was 2.1 billion. This is significantly more than the figures for the same period in 2023.

If the proposed measures are not taken, the Rosseti subsidiary may face bankruptcy. This will undoubtedly have a serious impact on the entire energy market in the region.
