Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the need to transfer the entire bankruptcy procedure for individuals into electronic form as soon as possible. According to the head of the Russian Federation, the changes in the bankruptcy procedure serve to protect the interests of debtors.

During the meeting of the President with members of the Government of the Russian Federation, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov began his report with the topic of protection of individuals with a high debt burden. He pointed out that from July 1, 2024, it is necessary to switch to electronic documents in the part of government agencies. The necessary certificates will be requested automatically through the system of interdepartmental electronic interaction.

According to the Parliamentary Newspaper, Vladimir Putin agreed that the task of switching to an electronic form of bankruptcy procedure is important for protecting the interests of debtors and for their convenience.
The head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, added that the Bank of Russia has already notified credit institutions about the new scheme, as well as methodological recommendations on out-of-court bankruptcy of citizens. She noted that a simple and convenient procedure of out-of-court bankruptcy is important for citizens, to which they could turn in difficult life situations.

Recall that since August, changes have been in effect in Russia that simplify the procedure for out-of-court bankruptcy for individuals. Now the minimum amount of debt required to file an application for bankruptcy recognition out of court is 25 thousand rubles, and the maximum threshold is 1 million rubles.
