CRYPTOCURRENCY, WEAPONS AND BRIBERY FUNDS: THE STATE DUMA ADOPTS A NUMBER OF BILLS IN THE FIRST READING

Bill on the prohibition of interaction with "undesirable organizations"

The document provides for a complete ban on the participation of citizens and companies in the work of foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) undesirable in Russia. The rule of law applies to both the territory of our country and foreign states.

In addition, there is a responsibility for the participation and leadership of such NGOs.

If the law is adopted, the amount of fine can range from 300 to 500 thousand rubles. In case of repeated violation, the liability might be changed for an imprisonment of up to 4 years. At the same time, heads of NGOs can be sentenced to from 2 to 6 years in prison.

Bill on stricter requirements for obtaining a permit for the purchase and storage of weapons

The normative act gives the right to refuse to issue a license to several categories of citizens, introduces a number of bans on the storage of deactivated and active weapons, and also contains a ban on the publication in the media and the Internet of information not only about the manufacture of firearms, but also about the possibilities of restoring of already deactivated ones.

Bill on the prohibition of elections for members of extremist organizations

A bill prohibiting the election to parliament of citizens involved in the activities of organizations that have been recognized by the court as extremist or terrorist may soon be approved.

At the same time, the ban applies not only to the organizers and participants of such organizations, but also to those who provided companies with financial and ‘other’ kinds of assistance.

Cryptocurrency Bill

The bill obliges election candidates to report on transactions for the acquisition of cryptocurrency. They will need to provide information not only about the costs, but also about the sources of funds for the purchase of digital money. The norm will be in effect for the purchase of cryptocurrency when the amount of the transaction exceeds the income of the candidate and his wife for the last three years that precede the purchase.

Bill on confiscation of bribery funds from the accounts of officials

The funds of not only officials, but also of their wives and children in a situation where the legality of received funds could not be confirmed will be turned into state revenue. Employees of the state corporations and other structures that fall under the requirements of anti-corruption legislation also fall under this measure.

Bill on the compulsory evacuation of Russians from the emergency zone

The document provides for the need to evacuate Russian citizens from the territory where a state of emergency is introduced from the moment the information about evacuation measures is received. Such information can be obtained from the federal, regional and municipal executive authorities. What is more, the list of organizations that have the right to make a decision on evacuation is being expanded.
