AMERICAN EXPRESS BANK IS BEING LIQUIDATED
American Express Bank (a subsidiary of American Express Company) decided to liquidate instead of selling the business. The corresponding application for liquidation was submitted to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
At the end of 2022, American Express Bank was on the list of credit institutions that are prohibited from transactions with shares and shares that make up their authorized capitals. This list was approved by the President of the Russian Federation.
In fact, the banks faced a choice – either to liquidate or to sell the business. The decision to liquidate, in addition to American Express Bank, was also made by Nordea Bank. Mercedes-Benz Bank Rus, N-Bank, J&T Bank, and Icano Bank have chosen to sell the business. At the same time, we remind you that in order to voluntarily surrender a license, you must obtain the appropriate consent.
