VLADIMIR ZHIRINOVSKY PROPOSED TO RETURN TO GREGORIAN CALENDAR

In his telegram, Zhirinovsky recalled that the Catholic world would celebrate Easter on April 4 this year, but in Russia the celebration will take place only on May 2. The deputy said that the biblical events took place on certain specific days, and in our country they just"mock" the history.

Zhirinovsky noted that Russia was the only country to celebrate Christmas later than the rest of the world.

The head of the Liberal Democratic Party called the situation "the tricks of the Bolsheviks", whose shadow still haunts the Russian Federation. In addition, Zhirinovsky stated that it was necessary to return the old pre-revolutionary names to the streets.

We should note that Orthodox Christians celebrate holidays according to the Julian calendar, while Catholics - according to the Gregorian calendar. According to a recent poll conducted by The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center, about 13% of Russians planned to observe Great Lent this year. Analysts also drew attention to the fact that the number of atheists in Russia has doubled - 14% against the previous 7%.
