The business representatives offered to bring the ration cards back to circulation

The corresponding statement was signed by the head of the National Meat Association Sergey Yushin, the head of the National Union of Milk Producers Artem Belov, the president of the Russian Guild of Bakers and Confectioners Yuri Katsnelson and many others. The entrepreneurs are confident that in the current situation, the ration cards for the low-income population are necessary - measures should also apply to those who have lost their jobs or a decent income due to the pandemic.

Each card will imply a set of products for 10 thousand rubles. If the project will be launched in May, then by the end of the year, 800 billion rubles will be required for its financing. Thus, the businessmen want not only to support the Russians who are in trouble, but also to maintain the level of demand for the products of enterprises, as well as save the jobs.

We should note that several years ago the Ministry of Industry and Trade came up with a similar idea. Then it was proposed to issue bank cards to low-income Russians - they would have a certain limit that could be spent on a specific list of products. The idea was rejected due to the lack of funding, but probably now the authorities will look at the situation in a different way.
