State Duma considers the legal regulation of the activities of online marketing fraudsters
The issue of regulating the activities of online coaches, who are often called ‘info-gypsies’ is being considered in the lower house of parliament. They offer paid participation in various trainings and marathons, which are designed to help you become ‘richer and happier’.
However, the State Duma of the Russian Federation believes that there are many scammers among the participants in the market that has not yet been regulated in Russia, from which citizens need to be protected.
The issue of distribution of paid online coaching was discussed the day before at a closed meeting of the State Duma, during which it was decided to create an inter-factional working group.
The parliamentarians noted that at the moment, there is no legislative regulation of this area of legal relations, in addition, the activity does not fall under the law on consumer protection.
It was decided to make a study of the possibility of changing the current legislation a priority, said the head of the State Duma Committee on Science, Sergei Kabyshev. According to him, it is also planned to develop legal mechanisms to bring unscrupulous participants of the online coaching market to justice and create mechanisms to control the tax discipline of service sellers.
Among the proposals voiced at the meeting there were both certification of services provided in this area and the creation of a register of online coaches, as well as the need to indicate the obligation to return the money in a situation where the service was not provided in the contract, Vedomosti reports.
