RUSSIANS WILL PAY TAXES FOR ARTISANAL GOLD MINING
The Ministry of Finance has come up with an initiative to impose a tax on artisanal mining activities. It is assumed that citizens from the northern Russian regions will be able to mine precious metals in a non-industrial way on a legal basis.

According to Izvestia, for this purpose, free miners will need to register an individual entrepreneur, after which they will need to select a site for gold mining on a special electronic service. The changes may come into force within the framework of the draft law of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East to regulate the activities of miners.

So far, only legal entities can legally mine gold.

To obtain such a right, legal entities participate in tenders and auctions, where they obtain licenses for the use of subsoil. The initiative will make it possible to develop non-industrial deposits of precious metals (from 1 to 30 kg), introducing legal economic circulation.

We should note that the proposal came after Vladimir Putin's instructions. The President pointed to the need of introduction stricter liability for gold mining without a license. Earlier, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East also came up with an initiative to toughen the punishment for Russians engaged in the extraction of precious metals without permits.
