The corresponding proposal came from the head of the Institute for Social Research and Development of Civil Initiatives Maxim Petunin. It has been noted that the fast food abuse can cause serious health problems.
According to RT, Petunin proposed limiting fast food advertising, namely, introduction of a ban from 8 am to 11 pm on references to fast food on television and radio. It is proposed to extend these measures to the Internet, printed publications, as well as outdoor structures.
In some foreign countries, restrictions on fast food advertising are already in force.
Petunin recalled that fast food advertising is unhindered in Russia, and therefore many citizens of the country regularly eat in such places. A letter with the initiative was sent to the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko.
Earlier, the UN has already reported that fast food is becoming a real problem for humanity. The fact is that people have become less likely to give preference to "correct" nutrition due to its high cost. In the future, this can exacerbate the problem of obesity and seriously burden the health system.
