THE PORT OF YEYSK ASKED FOR BANKRUPTCY PROTECTION

JSC "Yeisk Seaport" (JSC "EMP") turned to the authorities for financial assistance and support. The organization managing the activities of the city-forming enterprise faced the threat of insolvency due to the suspension of maritime navigation caused by the beginning of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine.

Information about the possible bankruptcy of one of the stevedores of the Azov Sea basin was published by Duma deputy Eduard Kuznetsov. The parliamentarian said that he had sent a letter to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. In it, he draws attention to the social context of the company's work. A hitherto successful company needs urgent measures of state support.

On February 24, Rosmorrechflot announced that shipping would be suspended due to a military threat.

According to Dmitry Sinyakov, managing director of the company, this undermined the financial stability in the functioning of the seaport. The volume of work was reduced by 3.4 times. The company's revenue fell 2.7 times.

It is not yet known to what extent the problem has affected two other Russian ports, Temryuk and Kavkaz. They are also located on the coast. Representatives of the Government of the Russian Federation reported that the deputy's appeal had already been submitted to the Ministry of Transport. Now, officials of the Russian department will understand the reasons for the company's ruin and decide on the issue of assistance.

The organization has existed in the Kuban since 1993.

JSC "EMP" is engaged in cargo transshipment, providing work to about 500 employees. The activities of JSC "EMP" are managed by LLC "Sovcommorport".

In 2021, JSC "EMP" finished with revenue of 1.3 billion rubles. According to data from open sources, the company's net profit amounted to 90.4 million rubles.
