THE BANKRUPTCY OF THE SAMARA DISTILLERY TURNED INTO A SUBSIDIARY
The Samara arbitration court issued a verdict on the issue of bringing to subsidiary responsibility several persons responsible for the ruin of the Rodnik plant. The most famous person involved in the case was Pavel Smetana, who is called the "vodka king" in the media.

The ex-head of "Rodnik", under whose control were other enterprises of the industry ("Kristall-Lefortovo", "Regionbusinesscontact"), managed to leave the borders of the Russian Federation, having previously stipulated his business partners. In addition, Sour Cream is suspected of tax evasion in the amount of over 318 million rubles.

Five people were brought to subsidiary responsibility. In addition to Sour Cream, the amount of financial responsibility of which will be determined later, the arbitration ordered to pay over 888.4 million to the former director of "Rodnik" Vyacheslav Dormidontov and the liquidator of the company "Asset" (JSC) Alexander Grinkevich.

Suspicions of the deliberate bankruptcy of the Samara plant "Rodnik" appeared quite a long time ago. In the summer of 2021, bankruptcy trustee Marat Biktimirov reported that about 3.3 billion rubles were withdrawn from the plant on the eve of bankruptcy.

The company's management issued a cession agreement, under which all rights of claim for the supplied products were transferred to the Asset company. The firm was affiliated to Alexander Mileev. Some sources call him the true beneficiary of the Samara and Volga combines "Rodnik".

As one of the regional publications notes, there could be more candidates for subsidiary responsibility. In particular, one of the creditors of the enterprise was accused of a criminal transaction by the company "EkoStroyResurs", whose assets have increased sevenfold. However, the involvement of the company and its management in the bankruptcy of the "Spring" could not be established.

The former head of Rosalkogolregulirovaniya Igor Chuyan, who changed his surname to Levin, also avoided subsidiary liability in the case of Rodnik. And this is despite accusations of financial crimes in other cases. The official hiding in Montenegro, sources believe, could have involved Pavel Smetana in a scheme with the redistribution of loans opened in OFK-Bank.

The bankruptcy case of the Rodnik plant is not the only one in which Sour Cream can be involved in a "subsidiary". In North Ossetia, the arbitration is considering a similar application related to the insolvency of the alcohol factory "Rakurs". The firm turned out to owe more than 3.5 billion to its creditors. Together with Sour Cream, Robert Kochiev, who became a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, may be brought to justice.
