Swed-Mobil car dealer received another bankruptcy claim

Representatives of the tax service applied for bankruptcy of the Swed-Mobil company. The debt of the first Volvo dealership in St. Petersburg to the budget is more than 120 million rubles. The arbitration court received the claim on April 19, although the date of its consideration is not known.

This appeal with the initiative to declare the company insolvent is not the first this year. In early February, the Snellen Chart advertising agency had already filed a similar claim in court. However, the hearing on the issue was postponed until April 28.

Earlier, at the end of January, Interleasing company made an attempt to bankrupt Swed-Mobil. The company representatives wanted thereby to speed up the collection of the debt arising from the delay in the delivery of a Volvo car worth 4 million rubles. The company ordered it for subsequent leasing transactions, however, the car was not delivered on time. The court ruled to reject the claim on formal grounds.

Since the beginning of 2021, the company has already received 7 applications, the total amount of claims for which exceeded 183 million rubles.

Over the past few years, the company has received 25 subpoenas.

Market experts started talking about the possible bankruptcy of Swed-Mobil back in the summer of last year. There were reports in the media that the company could go bankrupt, having lost the status of an official Volvo dealer.

The company's revenue has decreased 17 times since 2017 (from 3.2 billion to 186 million rubles). The organization ended the last year with a loss of 146 million rubles.

Founded in the early 1990s, the company that originally dealt with car repairs and later (in 2006) opened a dealership center was doing well until 2017. However, in 2018 the company was divided. Two out of three auto centers were transferred to the son of one of the founders of the company, Daniil Plitman, who later left the post of head of Swed-Mobil, having founded a new company Volvo Car Family. Now in the auto centers that previously belonged to Swed-Mobil, you can see not only Swedish, but also Chinese cars of the Geely brand.
