SPYKER AUTOMOBILE COMPANY DECLARES BANKRUPTCY

Spyker NV Company, a stylish automaker from the Netherlands, has filed for bankruptcy. It was announced by its trustee Willem Jan Van Andel, previously appointed by the court as a manager. However, according to the sources, the process is complicated and will not end with filing a bankruptcy petition.

It is known that at the beginning of the previous month, Van Andel announced his claims to the company's CEO Viktor Mueller as an ultimatum, threatening to start bankruptcy proceedings if he does not fulfill his debt obligations of ˆ 52,000. Mueller managed to get another month of respite in exchange for a promise to solve the problem.

As a result, the money had not been paid, and the trustee applied to the court.

What decision the court will make, will become clear in a few weeks. According to the company's management, the process will not significantly affect the company's activities. The fact is that the entire operating activities of the automaker had already been previously transferred to the Spyker Limited holding - that is why the appeal of Van Andel, as Victor Muller said, does not make sense. At the same time, the CEO continues to promise to pay the debts off, but notes that this will depend on another deal.

It is known that at the beginning of the year, Spyker Services, another division of the company, went bankrupt. The company owed ˆ 800 thousand and the manager has not been able to get them from the Mueller so far. As a result, Dennis Steffens, who acts as a bankruptcy trustee, began preparations for the sale of the Spyker trademark, hoping thereby to receive at least part of the debt.

In late summer 2020, the local tabloids reported that the company would work with Russian investors Boris Rotenberg and Mikhail Pessis.

Having bought the company, the businessmen planned to ensure its return to professional sports. In particular, the company received cash injections from the BR Engineering, SMP Racing and Milan Morady companies. The first two are owned by the oligarch Boris Rotenberg, and Milan Morady is the brainchild of his partner Mikhail Pessis.

What is more, the additional production of the road models was mentioned as well. Russian businessmen confirmed that they would do everything to make Spyker one of the world's selected automakers. It was planned to open a dealership exhibition center in Monaco, but with the current insolvency proceedings, these plans have to be postponed.
