The production of artistic ceramics in Skopin city is threatened with complete liquidation. The unique enterprise, founded in the Ryazan region in 1934, has actually stopped working. Employees reported delays in salaries for more than three months. At the same time, the local authorities plan to find a new investor who would agree to buy the unprofitable factory and set it up.
According to information published on the VKontakte social network in the skopin_info group, the factory had actually been closed down. Despite the popularity of the regional brand, the exhibits of which are presented in various collections of art museums in the country, the company's management was unable to overcome the financial crisis.
The mayor of Skopin Oleg Aseev also commented on the results of the meeting that the administration held on the fate of the factory.
During the meeting, the former owner of the company said that the company had been generating losses for several years in a row and it was no longer possible to work in such conditions.
In 2020, the factory provided jobs for 39 employees. At the same time, tax deductions in the amount of 1.83 million rubles were paid from the proceeds of 14.8 million rubles. However, the company ended last year with a loss of 400 thousand rubles.
Residents of the city, commenting on the publication, wonder what will happen to the unique collection of artistic ceramics, which is exhibited in the Museum of History. It contains pottery from the second half of the 17th century - since then, the artistic products began to be produced in the city.
More than a hundred years ago, more than 50 workshops operated in the city, which later became the Ceramic artel. Craftsmen made jugs and candlesticks, skillfully adding oxides of copper, manganese and cobalt to clay to create unique handicrafts. The production of ceramics was recreated in 1969 on the basis of this factory.
Back in September 2021, employees of the enterprise applied to the regulatory authorities and the prosecutor's office, reporting delays in the payment of salaries.
What decisions will be taken by the law enforcement agencies, will be clear in the near future. But will it help to restore jobs and production? Local authorities count on the state assistance, recalling that 2022 has been declared the year of crafts in Russia.
