SHOE COMPANY RALF RINGER UNDER THREAT OF BANKRUPTCY
SHOE COMPANY RALF RINGER UNDER THREAT OF BANKRUPTCY
The lawsuit between Ralph Ringer JSC and employees of two tax authorities (IFNS No. 15 and IFNS No. 18) threatens to turn into bankruptcy for the shoe manufacturer. The tax authorities seized the company's property, demanding 1.497 billion rubles from the company. In addition, the Federal Tax Service issued a ban on the sale of office equipment, as well as the alienation of accounts receivable of a company that has been operating on the Russian market for more than a quarter of a century.
According to Vedomosti, the company is attempting to challenge the decision of the tax authorities in the capital arbitration court. The materials in the case (no. A40-209652/2022) indicate that the claims of fiscal authorities may be related to non-payment of insurance premiums and some taxes calculated by employees of the Federal Tax Service.
At the moment, the shoe manufacturer has managed to appeal against the actions of the tax service. On November 16, the arbitration court issued a judicial act on the introduction of interim measures requested by the company. The requirements of the Federal Tax Service on debt payments were suspended.
According to experts, the reason for the debts could be the fragmentation of business during the pandemic. The company's management could take such steps in an effort to obtain tax breaks and reduce the amount of insurance premiums, thereby receiving benefits established for small and medium-sized businesses. However, if the lawsuit still ends with the victory of the tax authorities in court, the company may face bankruptcy.
In recent years, Ralf Ringer has been systematically incurring losses. In 2018, they amounted to 107.6 million, a year later 281.9 million, and in 2020 they reached 485.7 million rubles. The amount of losses over the past year decreased to 20.8 million. At the same time, the company's retail network continues to number more than 1.5 thousand outlets, and the total revenue of all organizations operating as part of the Ralph Ringer industrial Group in 2021 amounted to more than 9.5 billion.
