Proinvestbank declared bankrupt
The Perm Regional Arbitration Court satisfied the claim of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on the bankruptcy of ‘Professional Investment Bank’ JSCB. The credit institution lost its license on April 23, 2022.  The reason for this was a bankruptcy claim of the Central Bank.

According to the regulator, ‘Proinvestbank’ underestimated the amount of reserved funds, while overestimating the value of assets.  In addition, the bank owned the property without using it in business.  Attempts to artificially maintain the amount of capital, formally observing prudential norms (in relation to the marginal values of risks), backfired and the bank’s license has been withdrawn.
Former top managers of the bank tried to challenge the decision of the regulator.
They wrote an appeal to the courts.  According to Alexander Vorontsov, who headed the board of the bank, as well as Maxim Sorokin, the former head of the supervisory board, the Bank of Russia violated the law by appointing a temporary administration.

Vorontsov and Sorokin disagreed with the orders of this administration, which began to deform the reserves and filed a bankruptcy with the court.  However, the arbitrators eventually took the side of the Central Bank.
Proinvestbank is not a very large credit institution located in Perm.
Historically, the bank has existed in the city since 1946, having emerged as the Stalin branch of the state bank.  The city then bore the name Molotov.  After Stalin's death, the bank and the city itself were renamed.

In recent years, the bank was mainly engaged in lending to individuals and organizations, carried out settlement and cash transactions for legal entities and attracted depositors' money. Their money were the main source for the formation of funds.
